Welcome at L’Annicha,
bienvenue chez nous
We would like to thank you for choosing us for your stay. We wish you a fabulous time at our place, as well as during your discovery of the neighbourhood.
In this guidebook you will find information about the place and its facilities, dining and shopping information, as well as a brief overview of the activities you can do in the neighbourhood. If there is any information you require, but cannot find in this booklet,
please get in touch with us.
Our house is first and foremost OUR HOUSE. That means we chose this house because we like it and we live in it throughout the year. Since we love our house, we wanted to open it for people who would appreciate and like it.
You are our guests, and hopefully soon to be friends. We will be there to welcome you like we would do for friends visiting us, yet this is not a hotel and we have not been professionally trained in hospitality. Therefore, we appreciate any kind gesture or suggestion to help us make your stay more pleasant and please treat the house as you would your own.
If you have any remarks or suggestions for improvements, please talk to us.
If you like what you see, please mention it on social media or on Google
Thank you!
Tracy and Dirk
Our facilities
If you want to see a 3D version of L'Annicha, please have a look at Google Earth.
The premises:
The property consists of the main house, a former barn and the land around it.
The main house includes the office, living and dining room, our kitchen, four rooms and our private quarters.
The former barn is made up from two self-contained apartments (the Gîte and the Loft), the sports and meditation room (under renovation) and some other facilities which are not open for public.
4. Parking place
The Gite and the Loft have a parking lot right in front of their entrance.
Guests in the BnB rooms are requested to park on the parking, 50m down the road. They can walk back through the garden. At night the path is lighted by a sensor.
3. The former barn
The former barn is made up from two self-contained apartments (the Gîte and the Loft), the sports and meditation room and some other facilities which are not open for public.
The Gîte (100m2) can host up to 5 people and has a big covered terrace.
The Loft (63m2) was at a certain moment in time a painter's workshop. We renovated it into a cocooning loft.
The sports and meditation room was a former drying barn on top of the styes. There you can find the gym as well as a magnificent space to work on your inner self.
The former dryer barn on top of the styes has been transformed into a magnificent space to work on your body and inner self.
The gym consists of an exercise bike, a bench and a set of adjustable dumbbells.
In the meditation room you will find yoga mats and some meditation accessories, as well as a Bluetooth speaker.
You will find everything you need to disinfect the equipment used before and after your visit, as well as some towels and a tap to refresh yourself.
2. The main house
The main house is built as a "maison de maitre" (or master's house). Initially it hosted the land owners, who owned not only the land around the house, but also the farmer's houses on it (currently owned by our neighbours).
It is very symmetrical with a "couloir" (or corridor) going through the house. The lower floor was where the servants and peasants came to do their business with the masters, while the first floor was reserved for the masters and their guests. The top floor was used in those days as a drying room.
These days the ground floor hosts the living and dining room, as well as the office and the kitchen. On the first floor are the guest rooms, while our private quarters are on the second floor.
The dining room (opposite the kitchen) is where breakfast and meals are served during colder seasons or when it is raining.
Socialising happens in the living room which is free for all guests to use. You will find a selection of books at your disposal (please return after reading). During colder days the fireplace is a comfortable spot to gather around.
At the back of the house is a spacious terrace overlooking the garden, the pool and the surrounding countryside. It is the place where breakfast and dinner are served (weather permitting). It is also free for you to use during the day. During summer, activities (like parties and receptions) will be held there as well, unless indicated otherwise.
1. The land
The whole terrain on the west side of the Chemin de Pech de Lafon (4,5ha) is yours to enjoy.
It consists of:
- The main garden, which is located on the South side of the house, and hosts the terrace, the pool and beautiful viewpoints.
- From there you have a view on the orchard and the vegetable plot.
- The flower garden at the back of the former barn is open for everyone’s enjoyment.
- The small forest, located at the beginning of the Chemin de Pech de Lafon, consisting of mainly small oak trees and several other varieties of trees.
- On your way to the forest, you will have a fantastic viewpoint on the hills of the Quercy. We have installed a couple of chairs for your enjoyment.
- a huge grass field.
Over time several fruit trees have been planted throughout the property (this is after all a fruit region), with different levels of success. You will also find several nut trees throughout the property and in the immediate vicinity. The vegetable garden is for private use, but a helping hand is always appreciated 😉. When the harvest is bountiful, we make preserves and jams and/or eat them directly from the trees.
Feel free to roam around and take a rest on the chairs and benches positioned throughout the property. Those facing the sunset are especially popular.
